Chemical Weathering
Weathering is the breaking down of rocks, soils and minerals as well as materials when the earth's atmosphere and waters enter the rock. Chemical weathering is a gradual and ongoing process as the minerals of the rock adjusts to the near surface.
Mechanical Weathering
Mechanical weathering is when rocks are broken down without any change in the nature of the rocks. The rocks are broken apart due to physical force.
